Sara Rita Gutrich, “Rita” (nee Regan), 85, of Chicago, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024.  Devoted wife of the late Michael; Loving mother of Michael (Jimmy), Brian (Mary Lou), Suzanne, James (Pam), John (CFD), and Patrick (CFD) (Gina) and the late Kathleen; Proud grandmother of Hayley, Brian, Elizabeth, Madelyn, Molly, Maggie and Caroline; Beloved sister to James, the late John and the late Mary Herlihy; Fond sister-in-law and aunt to many, and special friend to many more. 

Rita was a nurse at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park for more than 50 years.  She spent countless summers in Assembly Park, Delavan, Wisconsin, where she made lifelong friends.

Memorial Visitation Monday, January 15, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 9235 S. Hamilton, Chicago, Illinois 60643, followed by mass at 11:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are appreciated.
